Date Night With Friends

Last Saturday I wore this outfit for a dinner/date night with former clients that are also good friends.  We had dinner at Rumari, my favorite Italian restaurant. It 's a little gem in Laguna Beach - definitely go there for authentic Italian if you're close by.  The third photo is really awful, but I needed to show the back of the cardigan.  I don't think there's another person on this planet who loves rose gold as much as me. 

 

This cardigan was seen on "Elizabeth Webber" on the 05-15-15 episode of General Hospital.  Thank you to imasoapfan for the photo.  This is definitely one of my favorite pieces seen on the show.

Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Tasting Event

Saturday night I wore this Trina Turk 'Kurdson' dress to a wine, cheese, and chocolate tasting and dinner event.  The top part of the dress was originally too roomy on me, so I got it altered.  It fits like a dream now. Nordstrom does the best alterations work.  I really don't want to go anywhere else for alterations.

Bar Mitzvah Party Outfit

My nephew became a Bar Mitzvah back in early January, and I wore this navy dress by Rebecca Taylor to the party.  It was so easy to dance and move in this swingy dress.  These kate spade rhinestone bow pumps were seen on "Maxie Jones" on General Hospital back in December 2014.  A big thank you to the amazing imasoapfan blog for the TV photos.

Visit to Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena

Our family visited the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena last weekend.  Not only was the art in the museum incredibly beautiful, but the outdoors were stunning, too.

New Year's Day 2016 / Son's Birthday Dinner

I wore this outfit to my son's 12th birthday dinner on New Year's Day at his favorite Chinese restaurant here in town.  I swear by these KUT From the Kloth 'Diana' corduroy skinnies which are on sale for $45.90 at Nordstrom. They are the only pants that really keep me warm in our "cold" SoCal weather.  During this photo shoot it was 44°F.  I was shivering!  I'm really loving winter white lately.  I just learned that the KUT From the Kloth site has some exclusive colors.  I hope more of my size becomes available.  This C By Bloomingdale's Dip-Dye cashmere sweater was seen on "General Hospital" recently in a different color, so I'll be making a post on that soon.

New Year's Eve 2015

The number one hotel in San Diego, the Fairmont Grand Hotel Del Mar has kindly asked me to share my take on an outfit to wear at their Grand New Year’s Eve Party. I am so excited such a fabulous hotel has asked for my input. 

I chose a classic black sleeveless knit dress so I can easily move and dance for my New Year's Eve party outfit. My favorite details of this dress are the dots that change into stripes. My husband also noticed that the dots in the dress reminded him of bubbles in a champagne glass. (The rosé champagne I'm drinking is Sophora, in case you were wondering.  It's a big hit at parties.)

Since it has been rather chilly here in Southern California in the evenings, I needed to purchase a warm wool coat. I've always wanted a grey coat, so I opted for this Calvin Klein belted coat. This has been a great choice for me this winter!

A good dose of sparkle and shine is always needed for New Year's Eve, so I decided on sparkly accessories. I went with pavé silver teardrop shaped pavé silver teardrop shaped earrings which complement the dots and stripes in the dress. I wanted my shoes to be shiny, and black patent heels seemed to fit the bill. This Trina Turk Exclusive metallic ruby red clutch gives me both color and shine.

My dear friend K gave me this beautiful silver kate spade charmed bracelet. There are two types of bows on the chain, and it is just adorable. The hanging bows seem to also complement the dots and stripes in my dress. I paired this bracelet with two different silver bracelets to add a bit more texture to my overall look. I am definitely happy with my little arm party! (bracelet 2 / bracelet 3)

December 14, 2014 episode - "Sam Morgan" of General Hospital wore this Free People 'Woodman' green and black plaid flannel shirt with contrasting navy and light blue floral print cuffs.  Thanks once again to imasoapfan blog for the photo. It's a shame it's taken me a year to blog this!  The contrasting cuffs made me want to hunt down this shirt like there was no tomorrow.

Anna Beck Jewelry Designer Becky Hosmer at Nordstrom

Last night my friends and I went to the Customer Rewards Night holiday party at Nordstrom in Mission Viejo.  It was an exciting event for me as I had the amazing opportunity to meet my favorite fashion jewelry designer of Anna Beck jewelry, Becky Hosmer.  Her trunk show was fabulous.  Pieces usually only available at her boutique in Los Angeles and annabeck.com were available at Nordstrom for this event.  Unfortunately, I forgot to wear my Anna Beck ring.  I was so bummed, but I was so excited to purchase these beautiful silver earrings.  I will wear them in a post very soon.  My friend Shawn noticed Becky and I are wearing very similar shoes and definitely the same color!

These Nordstrom parties are super fun, and I enjoy them every year.   Appetizers are passed around, free booze is served, a DJ plays music, and you earn 10 Nordstrom points per $1 spent to get you those Nordstrom Notes faster.
